Boston Strong - let's contribute!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the Boston Marathon Bombing. The Rhode Island Modern Quilt Guild would like to contribute to the incredible efforts to show comfort and support to the victims, and continue to uplift the spirits of Boston.

Tina from Seaside Stitches has shared two opportunities for us to show some quilting support!

Quilts for Boston is looking for 12.5" tall (square, or width of your choice) blocks. Jump over to the Boston Modern Quilt Guild post to view more details. They are requesting blue, yellow, light gray, and white fabrics in the blocks, to mirror the colors of the Boston Marathon.

To Boston With Love is looking for 6" x 8" flags to string together as banners to hang in Boston. Head over to the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild's post and follow the detailed instructions on how to construct the flags.  Please continue their theme of "love, hearts, and peace" using the color pallet below. Tara will tie all of the RIMQG's flags so they can be hung together!

If you would like to contribute blocks and/or flags, please bring them to our May 4th meeting. If you cannot make it to the meeting please email Tara at ewehavemeinstitches@gmail.com to obtain her address and mail them to her.  The deadline for both the blocks and flags is the last week of May, so Tara will be sending off the RIMQG contributions and a supportive note from our guild on May 20th.

We would love to show our Boston support! We encourage you to participate and look forward to seeing all of the blocks and flags at our May 4th meeting.
