Congrats, Tina!

Congratulations to our member Tina from Seaside Stitches!

Her quilt for the Modern Quilt Guild's Madrona Road Winter Challenge was selected to be displayed in Michael Miller's booth at QuiltCon later on this month!

Tina, we're so proud that your quilt will represent Rhode Island at the conference!

March Meeting: 3/2 at 2pm

For our March meeting, we're issuing ourselves a jelly roll challenge. Read more about it below!

Plus, Pat from Ryco will do a demo of the shop's Accu-quilt machine - how we quilters can access it for our cutting needs.

And we'll do show & tell - the best part! Bring something in-progress or finished to share with the group. We love to put our heads together to figure out quilting dilemmas, and to hear about your quilting process.

As always, we'll be at Ryco Creating Sewing Center

Jelly Roll Challenge

Do you have a jelly roll tucked away that's in need of a project? Time to dig it out! For our March meeting, we're all making use of those jelly rolls!

You can make anything you'd like, as long as you promise to bring it in to show the group!

Here is some inspiration:

Have fun!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

February Meeting Recap

We saw another round of fabulous quilts during show and tell at our February meeting.

Our challenge was to finish up some WIPs to clear the decks for our 2013 projects, and everyone really delivered!

Look at all of these beautiful colors!

Stay tuned or join our mailing list for details on our March meeting, which will be on Saturday, March 2nd at 2pm.

MQG Madrona Road Challenge

A few months ago, the Modern Quilt Guild issued a challenge to its members: create a quilt using only the Madrona Road fabric line paired with coordinating solids.  Three members of the RI Modern Quilt Guild answered the call, and here's what they came up with:

Tina Craig - Seaside Stitches

Carole Ann Penney - Connect the Dots Crafts

Mary Beth Slinko

Check out the Modern Quilt Guild's flickr group to see a gallery of the finished challenge quilts.  It's amazing and inspiring to see how different each quilt is!

Thanks to Michael Miller and the Modern Quilt Guild for supplying guilds with this beautiful fabric!
